Developing the Characters
This while continuing digital concepts and development work i've also begun thinking what else i should submit for this project to give the examiners an insight into the thought and design process.
I like the idea of a fast paced making off, similar to the animatic i made in my second year, where a little chibi version of myself discusses the project while introducing reference photos with unique or comical transitions.
There is a scene in marley and me (link below) with a upbeat tempo with opportunities of pause, reflection, humour or a jump forward in time, it was a unique way of condensing large amounts of time and experience into a few minutes.
I have looked for potential royalty free instrumental background similar and to quot the clip NADA, so i have reached out and secured a musician happy to help come up with something equally upbeat and simple, collaborating with a musician will allow me to dictate the amount of time needed.
I have begun designing the characters and to show the true experience and growth since my last self narrated animatic i will also include my son. More as comical background humour on his activity during these last few weeks, this includes drawing over walls and climbing over me as i work, sketching together and interfering in the first hand reference photos shoot. This will take the humour element off myself unlike the last animatic and allows my narration to have alot more content in the short space of time.

I have begun story boarding this idea.
I have designed charactures of my lecturers supervisor and clients, for example Terrys specific glasses or the clients hairstyle. nothing too specific, very faceless and dragonsden like but i feel it would give the final output a more personal effect.
I've discussed this making of idea with classmates and my supervisor, however was told a design process would take priority. Other than my dissertation i have never written a design process.
I attempted to begin one several times this week but found it feels like im just repeating whats already included in my reflective blog and soon will be in a making of.
How to ease the repetition and dullness of a report?
A book.
The idea started by brainstorming how i would present this report. At this point i have built 3-4 page templates and will create a brief over view in a magazine / photobook style.
This will aim to visually take the audience through the design process rather than have massive amounts of repetitive content that in this projects case could be considered common sense.
Shown is an example of this photobook.
Showing the linear design process of character one.
